Abstract: Paper discusses the epifauna of the fronds of Laminaria digitata in The Dorn, Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland. Twenty-five L. digitata were collected during early spring at three slightly contrasted sites in a tidal rapids system. Fronds of individual plants were cut into 15 cm segments starting from the distal end, and the fauna present on each segment face recorded. The frond community is discussed with respect to diversity, zonation, and physical factors.
