Abstract: This paper describes in detail the course of events specifically associated with encapsular lecithotrophic development from fertilization through to the fully competent, planktonic veliger stage of the mesogastropod Turritella communis. The animals were collected from a site located in Killary Harbour, Connemara, Co. Galway.
