Abstract: Paper looks at the possible significance of driftweed in the ecology of associated species, particularly isopods of the genus Idotea and the amphipod Gammarus locusta, in the light of the age structure of the populations involved. It also contributes information on the reproductive strategies of the more abundant species in Galway Bay.
