Abstract: This paper examines the near-bottom distributions of plankton and micronekton in the vicinity of the continental slope on the southern flank of the Porcupine Seabight off southwest Ireland and compares them with the vertical distributions in midwater at two deep-water stations, one in the mouth of the Seabight and one to the north in the Rockall Trough.
