Abstract: The paper details the distribution of Octopus vulgaris in waters around the British Isles. The only confirmed report of O. vulgaris in Irish waters was in 1886 from Dublin Bay. These specimens are held in the Museum in Trinity College in Dublin. The paper gives a description of the larvae and its distribution in British waters.
