Abstract: The temporal variability of the Melinna palmata-dominated polychaete assemblage off Mutton Island, Galway Bay, was studied from April 1983 to January 1985. Data analysis suggested the presence of three non-seasonal groupings. Increases in primary productivity are attributed to hydrographic conditions, with a possible link to organic matter availability.
