Abstract: Abstract only. A survey of marine habitats and species around the Irish coast is currently being undertaken. The distribution of some of the rarer species found are discussed, some new to Ireland or to the British Isles. Others are species which have rarely been reported in the literature and may be more typical of deep water or near the limit of their distribution in Ireland.
