Abstract: This paper investigates the distribution of Pomatoschistus microps on the North Bull Island, Dublin, where on the salt marsh an extensive salinity range is found. Results are also presented on an experimental study which subjected fish, taken in water of different salinities, to increasing and decreasing salt concentrations in order to compare salinity preference with salinity tolerance.
