Abstract: The results of a survey of marine and freshwater diatoms are presented. Previous records of diatoms are also noted. The reproduction, physiology, classification and distribution of this group is discussed. There is an extensive species list with descriptive detail for some species, place of collection, and marine/freshwater distinction.
