Abstract: Paper records the presence of the Codium subspecies C. fragile subsp. atlanticum for the first time on the east coast, and describes seasonal observations over a period of years. In addition, another subspecies, C. fragile subsp. tomentosoides, which previously had only a single record in Ireland in 1941, is shown to be well established on Irish coasts.
