Abstract: The succession of clays, sands and gravels above the Lower Carboniferous bedrock in Dublin Bay was established from borehole records... The sediments are glacial or post-glacial... The few fauna examined indicate a normal littoral or shallow-water sublittoral marine environment, the exception being an intertidal fauna occurring in a laminated clay low in the succession... The post-glacial succession is interpreted in terms of marine regression and transgression.
