Abstract: This paper discusses plankton distribution to the southwest of Britain, in relation to the occurrence of mackerel shoals. Plankton were surveyed by species from April to June, 1906 and 1907, from Plymouth to Kinsale. There is also a discussion on water quality and its effects on plankton and mackerel presence.
