Abstract: Thirty-four species of Oligochaeta were collected from within the Clare Island Survey area, including some littoral species. Prior to this survey there were no published records of oligochaete collections below the low water mark. Paper describes Grania maricola from a new genus of oligochaete which was found at a depth of 20 fathoms in Clew Bay. A list of the other species is presented with place of collection and type of habitat.
