Abstract: Small bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) eggs were obtained at Splough Rock, near Greenore Point Co. Wexford and Youghal Harbour Co. Cork during tow netting between April and June 1967. The eggs were taken just below the surface in water of salinity range 30.0 - 34.5 0/00 and surface temperature 10.5 - 13.2°C. Hitherto, the eggs of bass do not appear to have been found on the coast of Ireland or Britain.
