Abstract: The results of a survey of Nebaliacea, Cumacea, Schizopoda, and Stomatopoda from Blacksod Bay to Slyne Head and out to the 55 fathom line are presented. The species are listed with the place of collection. There were two new records to Ireland, one of Cumacea (Cumopsis goodsiri), the other of Mysidacea (Erythrops elegans), and there were nine species new to the district. The wider distribution of the species is noted, including records from Norway, the Mediterranean, and the British Isles. The study found a blending of southern and northern forms on the west of Ireland. The crustaceans included in this survey were mainly bottom haunting species which became pelagic at night. Collection was therefore by tow netting at night instead of the usual dredging and fine mesh net trawling.
