Abstract: Paper gives results of an extensive survey carried out in 1987 (with selected areas re-examined in 1993) for imposex in dogwhelks, a sensitive indicator for TBT around the Irish coast. This survey was carried out following a ban on the use of tributyltin (TBT) as an antifouling agent on all nets, structures and vessels of < 25m.
