Abstract: This is the twentieth paper in the 'Littoral and benthic investigations carried out on the west coast of Ireland' series and concentrates on echinoderm aggregations in Kilkieran Bay and Galway Bay. Various sampling techniques were involved due to the varied nature of the biotopes. These included van Veen grab, diver operated air lifts, and direct sampling by hand. An annotated species list is provided with discussion on the ecological causality behind echinoderm aggregations.
