Abstract: This is the eleventh paper in the 'Littoral and benthic investigations on the west coast of Ireland' series and presents the first detailed account of the biology of Montagu's Blenny, Coryphoblennius galerita L., in Irish waters. Between 1972-1974 monthly specimens were collected (416 in total) from rockpools on exposed rocky shores of Mweenish Island and Mace Head, Co. Galway. The following topics are discussed: habitat and behaviour, age and growth, population structure, reproduction, food and a summary of their life history.
