Abstract: This is the sixteenth paper in the 'Littoral and benthic investigations of the west coast of Ireland' series. The biology of the long-spined sea scorpion Taurulus bubalis was investigated from March 1987 to February 1980 in the Galway Bay area. Samples were taken from Carna, Co. Galway and Finvarra, Co. Clare. Fish caught sublittorally were examined separately. Additional specimens were noted from counties Wexford and Cork. A discussion of the growth rate, age limit, fecundity and diet of this species is presented.
