Abstract: Paper discusses the occurrence of blooms of Phaeocystis which were reported from the west coast of Ireland in the spring of 1990. Populations were observed along coastlines of counties Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Donegal. Hours of recorded sunshine and wind speeds are given.
