Abstract: A record of forty additions of Phaeophyceae to a list of species completed in 1891 is presented. Collections were made at a number of coastal sites around Ireland by dredging and shore collection. A list (incomplete) of 111 species is presented, including one species new to science and one species new to British flora. There is a brief description of the species, with reference to abundance, place of collection and their wider distribution within the British Isles.
