Abstract: This report presents data collected by a variety of agencies. Part 1 provides data on the state of the environment; Part 2 relates to activities generating pressures on the environment; Part 3 is concerned with managing the environment, including legislation and other action in response to pressures. The final part provides data of a general quantitative nature. With respect to coastal marine work, there is a distribution of selected coastal resources by county, and water designation in accordance with EC directives on bathing waters and shellfish waters. Biosphere reserves, Ramsar Wetlands and Natural Resources are also listed.
