Abstract: This is the fourth paper in the 'Investigations of the plankton of the west coast of Ireland' series, and reports on the first detailed qualitative and quantitative investigation of the larval and post larval fish in the plankton of Irish waters. The area, stretching from Blacksod Bay, Co. Mayo to just south of Loop Head, Co. Clare, was investigated during the period August 1958 to February 1966.
