Abstract: This paper reports the resolutions passed by an International Conference (which) met at Stockholm in June, 1899, for the purposes of formulating a scheme for a combined investigation of the northern Atlantic, the North Sea, and the Baltic in the interests of the sea-fisheries. Delegates from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Holland, Russia, Sweden and Great Britain and Ireland attended. The resolutions establish a programme for hydrographic and biological investigations, and provide for the organisation of a central bureau. The biological work is chiefly concerned with the distribution, life history and population statistics of economic fishes.
