Abstract: This paper reports on a water quality survey carried out in conjunction with voluntary divers in the southern end of Dublin Bay. Water samples were taken at 1 m and 10 m depths and were bacteriologically tested. Measurements were also taken of temperature, salinity, D.O., transparency, B.O.D., S.S. and turbidity. Sediment cores were also analysed. The paper also contains an assessment of the value of divers for water quality data acquisition.
