Abstract: A limited number of Gephyrea species are known to inhabit shallow waters of the British Isles. Only 12 species occur within the 30 fathom depth, 9 of which were found in the Clare Island area, with an undescribed species found in Clew Bay. The north-south extent of the species distributions of the Clare Island records is discussed. A list of the species, with place of collection, and description of habitat in the Clare Island area is presented. The newly recorded Phascolosoma intermedium is described and illustrated for identification purposes.
