Abstract: Collections of Foraminifera were made on the north shores of Clew Bay and on the shores of Achill Island around the coast to Dugort Bay. Deep water species were collected by dredging. Two classes of material were described: those from shore sands and those from shallow water dredgings. The sea bottom, where dredgings took place, is described with note of the different substrata in Clew Bay, between the islands of Clew Bay and Clare Island, and in Killary Bay. Previous collections of Foraminifera are reviewed, though a survey as extensive as this had hitherto not been completed. A list on new and rare species is presented. The stations sampled and the material examined are described. A complete systematic list of the species collected describes their frequency of occurrence and method of collection. Some species are described in taxonomic detail and illustrative plates are included. This is an extensive list of Foraminifera species. Lat/long positions are included for sampling stations.
