Abstract: This paper reports on growth trials with the bivalve Venerupis decussata in Lough Foyle and Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland. Trials in Strangford Lough were more satisfactory, but emphasised the importance of transferring spat from off-bottom trays to the sediment for commercially viable yields.
