Abstract: This paper deals mainly with growth analysis and population statistics of scallops (Pecten maximus) dredged from the coasts of counties Cork and Galway, 1946-53. The use of annular rings for growth studies is validated by mark-recapture experiments. Natural and fishing mortalities are examined. Spawning patterns are discussed and fishery statistics tabulated.
