Abstract: This Code of Practice is the output from the ECOPRO project funded by the European Commission LIFE programme and the project co-partners. It contains descriptions of how sea conditions (e.g. waves, tides) affect erosion, transport and deposition of sediments on the seashore. Methods for protecting and restoring beaches, dunes and mudflats are described. Sources of coastal data, and how to use maps and aerial photographs in coastal studies are provided.
