Abstract: The main objective of the study was to provide a baseline for future routine monitoring of water quality in the river Liffey, its estuary and Dublin Bay, and to enable as assessment to be made of any changes resulting from harbour development works, increases in cooling water discharges or changes in the pattern of drainage.
