Abstract: This report gives the results of a survey carried out in Dublin Bay from the R.V. Lough Beltra in Aug. - Sept. 1989. The specific objectives of the survey are as follows: (a) to sample, identify and quantify the sublittoral macrobenthic fauna in the area (b) to characterise the benthic environment in terms of sediment granulometry and organic content (c) to quantify the distribution of heavy metals (d) to quantify the distribution of bacteria in the sediments (e) to access and record sublittoral algal communities in the area, particularly in relation to their possible influence on shore line accumulations (f) to collate and analyse the benthic data
