Abstract: This paper summarizes the existing information on the distribution, ecology and life cycle of the echiuran worm Maxmuelleria lankesteri, and includes records from three locations in Ireland; off Mulroy Bay, Co. Donegal, the Irish Sea (off Co. Louth), and Kenmare River, Co. Kerry. The record from Kenmare River was an isolated specimen and was found in the stomach of a dab Limanda limanda.
