Abstract: This paper evaluates density currents in the Irish Sea using a three-dimensional numerical model. Most of the work is concentrated on the circulation of the eastern Irish Sea (i.e. the sea area lying to the east of a line joining Anglesey to the Isle of Man, including Liverpool Bay.
