Abstract: Abstract only. Seventeen exotic marine species have appeared in Cork Harbour. Some introductions occurred as a result of aquaculture transfers, others as fouling organisms on ships' hulls. Ships' ballast water discharges currently pose the most significant threat for inoculations of non-native species.
