Abstract: This paper concerns the meiofaunal community of Fucus serratus epifauna, collected from three intertidal sites in Strangford Lough. The meiofaunal community comprised of turbellarians, nematodes, copepods, ostracods and acari. The paper reveals the effect of bryozoan colony location within the plant on meiofaunal abundance; a population decline in late winter and the influence of the epifaunal species concerned. Meiofaunal abundance was found to increase with silt retention by colony surfaces.
