Abstract: This reference is for a joint PhD thesis consisting of three volumes. This thesis is an account of the molluscan, crustacean and pycnogonid fauna collected in marine macrobenthic studies as part of the Benthos Research group of UCG. For the majority of taxa treated, a Galway Bay area fauna list is compiled, based on the author's findings and a review of the literature. For other groups a preliminary check list of the species recorded in the Galway Bay area is presented.
