Abstract: Variation in activity in five species of wrasse was estimated by scuba diver observation on transects in three sea inlets in Ireland. The results were reported under the headings: density variation; dispersion; diurnal variation; variation with tide and current and seasonal variation. Accuracy and precision of methods and factors influencing activity were discussed.
