Abstract: Paper presents an annotated (depth, general habitat, abundance) species list of algae surveyed on subtidal cliffs in Lough Hyne, Co. Cork. Eight sites were surveyed. The algal communities are described, 130 species listed, ecological notes given, and rare or unusual species drawn attention to. The paper is particularly useful in describing algal communities occurring in an enclosed fully marine basin.
