Abstract: The paper gives a history, description, distribution and key to the species of the genus Bathyporeia. Two west-Ireland specimens of B. tenuipes from the 1869 Porcupine Expedition, housed in the British Museum, are mentioned. They were obtained from station 6 ('west of the Shannon, 90 fathoms, 13871-874') and station 18 ('west of Clew Bay, 183 fathoms, 13856-858').
