Abstract: This paper is divided into three parts. The first looks at the first record of the fish Dentex vulgaris caught in Irish waters. A brief description of the species is given. Part two is a supplement to a previous report on British and Irish gobies. Part three looks at British and Irish species of the genus Solea. Both figures and descriptions are given, as is a key to species.
