Abstract: Proceedings contains 10 papers on a wide range of subjects, each connected by the marine research vessel - Lough Beltra. Trends and usage of the RV Lough Beltra during the period 1983-1986 are given along side papers concerning groundfish surveys, geological and geophysical surveys, benthic faunal surveys, phytoplankton monitoring, water quality surveys, contaminant monitoring, oceanography and a personal view of the role of the RV Lough Beltra in Irish marine science.
