Abstract: The amphipod Ampelisca dalmatina, previously known only from the Mediterranean and the Portuguese coast is recorded from the British Isles. It is described and figured, and compared with the other species of the A. aequicornis group. Ampelisca provincialis from the Celtic Sea is compared with A. latifrons. Differences between A. latifrons and A. provincialis are described and discussed.
