Abstract: This paper provides detailed results of a fishing survey carried out off the west coast of Ireland, 1890-91. A list of captured species is given, with common names in English and Irish. Species are also summarised by sampling station, for which brief invertebrate records are also given. The more commercially important fish are tabulated by locality and information on depth, substratum, abundance, length, weight, sex ratio, reproductive state and diet is included. The comparative efficiency of different baits used in long-line fishing is considered.
