Abstract: A short note which suggests that the relative level of land and sea at Greenisland, Co. Antrim has changed. The finding of dead shells of two common boring molluscs, Pholas dactylus and Barnea candida, in situ with their burrows in the Triassic marl. The level on the shore is too high for living individuals to inhabit (both live at low water mark as a rule).
