Abstract: This short note records the occurrence of the little mollusc Odostomia albella in shell-sand 'gathered on the shore at Groomsport, Co. Down - a single example only was obtained'. Its only fossil record in Ireland occurred in estuarine clay at West Bank, Belfast Lough. The shell sand mentioned also contained at least 10 other species.
