Abstract: This short note records the capture of a young Tunny, Orcynus thynnus, in a mackeral net in Baltimore, Co. Cork. There have only been two or three previous Irish records. The specimen was four feet long and weighed 57 lbs, compared to those of up to 1000 lbs found commonly in the Mediterranean.
