Abstract: This short note outlines the mussel fishery in Belfast Lough from 1889 till 1894. It suffered almost a virtual collapse in 1892-93. The mussel beds seemingly moved after this and in 1894 mussel fishing was in full swing with 1532 tons exported from the Port of Belfast.
