Abstract: Algae were collected by dredging and shore collecting on the exposed coasts of Achill Island. The species collected were noted. The flora was limited, excepting Laminaria banks off Dogort Strand where conditions were sheltered. It was suggested that the eastern side of the Island, where the waters were less deep, would support a richer floral community.
