Abstract: This short note records the occurrence of a Black Fish, Centrolophus pompilus, caught at Ballymastocker Strand, Lough Swilly, Co. Donegal. The Black Fish is an inhabitant of the Mediterranean and previously only seen a few times on the Irish coast.
